Howard County Commission for Veterans and Military Families Wants to Hear from You

If you are a veteran or member of the military who wants to learn more about the resources available to you and your family, share issues of concern or talk about unmet needs, then you are invited to meet with members of Howard County’s Commission for Veterans and Military Families on Monday, February 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting, which will be held at the Howard County Library’s Central Branch, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, is open to the public.

The Commission was formed early last year by Howard County Executive Ken Ulman and the Howard County Council to assure that the issues of our country’s veterans and military families are addressed effectively and efficiently. The Commission advises the County Executive and the County Council of the needs of veterans and military families and maintains a list of resources for both.

An interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available, if requested, seven days prior to the meeting. Call the Department of Citizen Services at 410-313-6400 (voice) or use Relay or 7-1-1 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you need accommodations to attend the meeting or for more information, contact Kent Menser, Executive Secretary of the Commission at 410-313-6521 or kmenser@howardcountymd.gov.
