Howard County is recognized for its great schools, safe neighborhoods and vibrant community life. As County Executive, Ken has shown his commitment to strengthening our quality of life by:

• Making government more accessible and transparent through annual open forums for citizens
• Increasing by 65 percent our support for the nonprofit partners who provide assistance to our neighbors in need
• Preserving thousands of open space for future generations
• Increasing access to parks and open spaces by constructing the North Laurel Community Center and Park and Robinson Nature Center – the County’s first nature center
• Maintaining the lowest unemployment rate in the state
• Working to bring thousands of new jobs into the region through BRAC and Cyber Command
• Committing record funding toward our public schools
• Investing in public safety by having more police officers, firefighters, and 911 operators on duty
